Compatibility & Interoperability

Matching Both Ends of a Link

Validate transmit, receive, wavelength, connector and lane topology end to end.

Overview

A successful link requires compatible endpoints and a suitable physical channel. This is especially important for BiDi, breakout, parallel optics and wavelength-specific links.

Key planning checks

  • Record both endpoint part numbers or requirements.
  • Match speed, lane count and optical family.
  • Pair complementary wavelengths where required.
  • Verify fiber count, polarity and connector path.

NRCube review note

Keep the unknowns visible

Never approve a link from only one endpoint's specification.
